Hex Shaped
Should i setup my new 60 gal hex tank or trade it for a longer rectangular shaped tank for saltwater tank?
i know that its less surface space, in turn less oxygen which in turn means less fish so thinkin the rectangular, but wanted everyones opinion thanks
That is basically up to you. Hex tanks make beautiful coral/reef tanks. As long as you have a wave maker or powerhead, you can still keep the fish you want. It is all a matter of setting up the tank the right way. Remember dissolved oxygen gets into the tank by water movement against the air, powerheads filter out puts etc. With the proper air/water flow there is no reason you cannot keep basically the fish you want to keep. Mind you keeping waterdisplacement and size of fish in mind.
Are there particular fish you are looking to keep? Sometimes two or three show fish in a reef tank is more attractive than a collage of missfits for color.
Figure out what fish you want or would like to have. Do your research on requirements then decide what is best for you.
