How do i make large sugar crystals?
I want to make like one big sugar crystal, instead of a bunch of little ones attached to a stick, or string, like in making rock candy, how do i do this? i want a big one! hehehe
1 cup corn syrup
1 cup water
1 cup light brown sugar (sugar in the raw works best)
up to 1 table spoon of lemon juice
The Crystals MUST have something to form onto, that’s why the string. If you don’t want it to be seen, use nylon mono filament (fishing line).( Artificial rain comes from seeding clouds with dry ice crystals, to give the moisture in the clouds something to form onto and making droplets of water.
Hail stones come from drops of water that fall into cold air, rise up, catch more water, and then freeze again.
The more times it rises and catches more water, the bigger it gets. A hail stone that is as big as a golf ball, may have been bouncing around for up to 30 times before the wind can no longer hold it in the sky and it falls to earth.)
The lemon juice helps to precipitate the crystals from the solution by changing the Ph of the solution.
