Dish Mint

Currency Browning / Yellowing and basil has small holes in the leaves?
Hey there. I just bought the mint and basil plants there few days (maybe Wednesday?). I seem to have much of a green thumb, because they are already starting to have problems. I have them in pots 7 inch, decent drainage, full sun on my balcony. I live in Texas but he was super hot and sunny lately. Mint is now a brownish color in some of the leaves, and others are turning to a yellowish color. I do not think it's rust, could I be it overwatering? I also found little black things on my basil leaves and stem, thinking they might be aphids or eggs something strange, and there are small holes in a large number of basil leaves. I took a paper towel and wiped out things in black yesterday, Then I tried spraying a mixture of dish soap and water on the leaves of basil to see if it would keep things in black there. Unfortunately there were more of that today. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you!
