Biography
Toyah father ran a successful carpentry business. She attended Edgbaston EC College, where she gained a pass GCE in music and trained as an actress at the Old Rep Drama School in her hometown of Birmingham.
Punk Era
It started well known at the time of punk rock, her appearances in Derek Jarman's 1977 film Jubilee and 1979's Who album Quadrophenia inspired by his introduction as a character provocative and anti-establishment.
Singer
Head of a group known as Toyah, her singing career was slow to take off and the group has released six singles in the UK before finally hitting the charts in 1981 with "It's a mystery. "She was followed by several other big hits including "Thunder In The Mountains" and "I Want to Be Free". These singles were also successful internationally. In the early years eighty, Toyah had its own line of makeup called successful "Soul search.
In 1982 she was voted Best British singer to The Rock and Pop awards since restyled as The BRIT Awards, or "BRITS" and in 1986 she married guitarist Robert Fripp in the United Kingdom. She was one of the first acts to score regularly in the British charts with EPS. Also in 1986, Willcox sang lead on the Tony Banks track "Lion of Symmetry". In 1987, She made the top fifty with her version of "Echo Beach".
Toyah has released 30 albums (both as a solo artist, and part of groups), 22 of which were studio albums, 7 of which were UK Top 40 success. She has 13 top 40 singles in the United Kingdom, making it one of the most successful artists British history.
In 2001, the magazine "Q" named Toyah number 48 in their Top 100 Greatest Women in Music poll, as voted by the Readers of the magazine.
For 2009, Toyah came seventh in a BBC series naming the "Queen of British Pop", as voted by the British public.
In 2010, Toyah will perform with his group "Humans" at the fundraising Roundhouse London Haiti earthquake "concert. It will also scene both as a solo artist and as part of "The Man" at various dates in the United Kingdom.
Interim
acting career Toyah began with the Old Rep Drama School in Birmingham and his theatrical career includes plays by Shakespeare and other productions such as Tales from the Vienna Woods and the National Theatre in Trafford Tanzi at the Mermaid Theatre. She played Calamity Jane at Shaftesbury Theatre and was a guest vocalist on tour anniversary of the Rocky Horror Show at the Royal Court Theatre. In 1990, she played in the national tour Costanza Amadeus. She is currently (11th December 2009 to January 10, 2010), in pantomime, playing the Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Ivannah high school in Sheffield.
She has played in a number of feature films including Quadrophenia and Jubilee and has made numerous appearances on television, including series like Quatermass (1979) and Minder. In 1984 she played opposite Laurence Olivier in The Ebony Tower and the same year, opposite Katharine Hepburn in the made-TV film Wheat is green, directed by George Cukor. She also appeared on Kavanagh QC and Diary of a Call Girl.
She also appeared as a presenter programs such as songs of praise, Holiday (BBC), and good Sex Guide Late as well as being a guest on several shows such as The Sky and Earth show, through the keyhole and Loose Women.
In 1999, she took the lead in the children's television series Barmy Aunt Boomerang. She also provided the voice of television programs for children Teletubbies and Brum.
She also appeared in the reality series I'm a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! and I'm Famous and scared!.
Autobiography
Toyah has had two bestsellers published. After his 2000 autobiography Living Out Loud, Toyah had a new autobiographical book published in 2005 documenting her experience of cosmetic surgery, Diary of a facelift.
Radio
It was heard on the radio, including in 2002 BBC Radio 4 series The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. She is also credited to express the widow Fantine in brief on the version Family Radio Theatre Les Miserables. In December 2006, she joined the radio drama series Silver Street on the BBC Asian Network as Siobhan Brady.
Recent activities
In 2002, Toyah became a leading opponent of shelters provided for asylum seekers near Worcestershire village, Throckmorton. Protestant with more than 1,000 villagers, Willcox said: "The villagers are not asylum seekers and they fight against are not racist" adding that "It was not a simple black and white." Commenting on the government's plans to build centers for asylum in other rural areas, Toyah said: "Only the first 15 years. The sheer scale is breathtaking. This is a small country – it happens so illegal. "
She continues to perform with his band, releasing a live DVD in 2005, and has a busy schedule with commitments of theater, including appearing on stage in London's West End scene of the title role of Calamity Jane at the Shaftesbury Theatre in 2003.
Toyah has been approached to visit Estonia by the Estonian ambassador in 2006, where she went to form new group "The Humans"

Toyah is writing, recording and co-production of new solo material long-term collaborator Simon Darlow. A look at one of these songs, "Latex Messiah" can be heard at Toyah the official MySpace page and videos of new songs "Lesser God" and "Heal Ourselves . Toyah is currently negotiating a publishing contract in the world with Zomba. "Latex Messiah" was released as a single October 29, 2007; the associated album in the Court of The Crimson Queen, was released September 12, 2008.
In November 2007, Toyah took on the role of sponsors of the Black Country urban park for the Big Lottery Peoples 50M. In April 2008, Toyah took part in the Great Walk to Beijing along with other celebrities raise funds for charity Olivia Newton-John's Cancer. In June 2008, she appeared on living with the dead LivingTV to share her experiences living in the haunted house. On July 24, 2008 Toyah appeared on the ITV1 UK this morning (TV series) to discuss his role in rock musical vampire Vampires Rock. Under Liverpool European Capital of Culture year, it will be on stage for the first time at the brand new Liverpool Echo Arena and Conference Centre. In 2009, a new version of Vampire Rock was created, called Vampires Rock Christmas, and Toyah's back in his role of Killer Queen, alongside of the writer and one of the stars of the show, Steve Steinman.
On Sunday, July 5, she will play at Bents Park, South Shields, in a live concert outdoors, and in October 2009, she made an appearance in the BBC1 drama series Casualty.
For 2009, Toyah has found continued success with his new band "The humans. Led by Toyah, "man" also includes Bill Reiflin international success of the band REM and Chris Wong. "Human beings" also includes Toyah's husband and "King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp as an occasional member.
Personal life
She currently lives in Pershore, Worcestershire, United Kingdom, with her husband Robert Fripp. They married in 1986 in Poole, Dorset.
