Blown Blue
VK Commodore blows blue smoke on ignition?
My VK wagon (1984) blows blue smoke on ignition, but it settles down quickly.
Its done it for a while, and I’m told its nothing too serious… do I have a major problem brewing???
Has carby, tuned just a couple of months ago, is an automatic, doesn’t leak oil. 220,000kms on the clock.

this would be caused by oil by-passing the valve stem seals . it is nothing too serious but over a prolonged time can cause glazing of the bore and therefore you will incure burning of oil getting through the oil and compression rings. i once had a vk and done the valve stem seals with no real improvement. my opinion is drive it till it nearly dies or runs out of rego and trade her in.ps if you have kids in the back it would pay to check your rear door seals to ensure the fumes don’t get in whilst driving.go the HOLDENS.
