Where can I buy clear, empty glass beer bottles?
The kind that take normal bottle caps, not screw-tops. I’m looking for clear glass, not brown/amber.
A few have asked what I need them for…I’m brewing mead, which isn’t very light-sensitive (as it typically lacks hops). I do, however, want to be able to show off the color. Details at http://blog.360.yahoo.com/mdubinko
You might approach the owner of a bar that sells a lot of Corona (or another beer that comes in clear bottles) and offer him more than the refund for the empties. Wash, rinse with a mild bleach solution and they will be as good as new.
I did the same when I was home-brewing, except I used green Heiniken bottles. I gave him a dollar a case.
